"Putting stuff together -that's what I do best! Aluminum hair to bronze bust. Bronze bust to cast aluminum base. Wood to ceramics. Metal to rubber. Metal to metal. Transmission to engine. Windshield to handlebars . Gasoline to Carburetor. Atlas to asphalt. Wind to hair. Mile marker to mile marker. City to city. Country to country. It's all one big connection."
Kevin Strandberg is a creator by nature. Broken camera parts and components may hinder others but not him. Instead of looking at the broken pieces and seeing trash, he transforms them into one-of-a-kind pieces. He is a professor of sculpture, photography, and glass. He is also the director of the Ames School of Art, at Illinois Wesleyan University. His cameras and other work have been exhibited all over the United States.
